Correction – No practice May 12, 2016

Due to the Scottish Rite Language Disorder Clinic’s annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser, we will not have practice this coming Thursday evening.

Please consider coming to the dinner, its always a good meal, and it supports a great cause! Dinner runs from 5 – 8pm, and costs $10.00 a person. There are also live and silent auctions, and tickets for a drawing for an iPad.

Upcoming Event and Practices

Our first parade of the season is rapidly approaching, and we wanted to make sure all of our members who plan on playing with the band are ready.

The Great Falls St. Patrick’s Day parade will be on March 17, 2016, and is scheduled to start at 3:30pm. It will run from the Civic Center to 8th St., and will be a nice, short event to get everyone back into the swing of things. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

In order to assist with getting everyone ready, and to complement the other changes that have occurred in the band, we will be covering the attack and cut offs at this coming Thursday’s practice, February 25, and then going over line-up, marching, and other dress and deportment issues at the practice on March 10th.

We would ask that all of our members who plan on playing with the band this year attempt to make both practices. Even if you won’t be able to play in the St. Patrick’s day parade, we need to make sure everyone is familiar with how things are going to run, has copies of the new tune sets, and has a chance to practice all of it so we can put on the best performance possible!

We will also be available to assist with any instrument maintenance issues, and would ask that all of the pipers make sure that they have a functioning chanter reed and are comfortable with how their instrument is playing. If you are having problems, or just want a quick check, please let us know, and we will make sure to make time to get it resolved. It is much easier for everyone to deal with these issues at a practice rather than right before a parade is about to start!

So hopefully we will see everyone this coming Thursday night at 7pm, and then again on March 10 at 7pm!
